Experienced, Effective and Enthusiastic sums up Chris Snowdon and his over 30 years broad based hands-on experience of preparing and winning with many types of race cars and this is what he so successfully offers his customers. Since 1998 CSR has offered a full race prep, team support and driver management service from its south coast workshop.
To many Chris is best known as a racer and indeed it is his own success at racing and preparing on an often tight budget that has brought him prominence in a competitive business. That experience benefits CSR customers with preparing their cars or helping with top tips about race driving techniques.
His race career began in 1976 in a Mini and various other cars were raced until his first season in Sports 2000 in 1988. During the ’90s Chris was Alfa Club champion on three occasions and his affection for the marque still sees a constant stream of Alfas through the workshop. In 1998 he co-drove a Lancia Stratos in the Privilege GT Championship and a great win in the wet at Oulton Park with Tony Soper was memorable.
More recently he has returned to his love of Sports 2000 and having owned and raced several of the models himself, his knowledge of them is very wide indeed.
CSR was started in 1998 and racing became just a rare hobby, but winning is still a habit and both he and his customers have had considerable success in recent seasons. Chris’ skills were utilised in the Sky television series ‘So you want to be an F1 Driver’ on finding a Grand Prix driver where his all round skills and experience were of such value to the team.
